The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.
Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering regarding Sony's platform unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the Xbox ecosystem. Yet, based exclusively on the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that the green gaming company continues to plan to draw people in with strong games on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
A pair of titles you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th β and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine β Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around β which makes them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
